Yippee, it's the weekend!!!

I am so glad the day is almost over. I had to work today, was planning on just a partial day as I had the kids with me, but it turned into the whole day. Didn't go too bad, except the kids seem to drive hubby crazy while they're there, so I feel like we really get in the way. Anyway, took the car to the dealer, and had to get some minor things done. I tried to get the new remotes programmed, and they don't work. Grrrr!!! So now I'm dealing with that as well.

I took the kids to B&N tonight and while I scored some great deals, Elena was being truly difficult. I love the girl to pieces, but she's gonna need a leash. Yep, I know lots of people think they are demeaning, but if she keeps it up, it's going to be a necessary evil. She thinks it's hysterical to run away from me. Now mind you, it wouldn't be too bad just chasing her, but when you have another kid in tow ( with HUGE separation issues) and arms full of products and coffee, while trying to chase a 2 yr old, doesn't go so well.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE staying home with the kids right now!!! I wish I could do it all the time, but I'm going to have to look for more hours somewhere for them in the next couple of months. Grrrr. Pesky work. But, a job in these times is a good thing and not always easy to come by, plus it definitely offers me perks, like being fairly flexible for me and the kiddos.

Tomorrow we have a birthday party in the morning, then errands, hopefully a quick stop by work, and then a Mommy's Night Out!! Woo hoo!! I can certainly use it. Sunday, not so sure what we're doing. Hubby and I aren't really football fans, so maybe it will just be a low key chill day, or maybe the zoo. Guess it depends on the weather. Maybe a playdate or something, who knows.

I just started reading Confessions of a Shopaholic. Thanks for letting me borrow it Monica!!! I haven't read a book in years, never have the time with the kids, but I am looking forward to it, since I used to be a total bookworm. I'm going to see the movie with my Mom's group and I really want to read the book before I see it. Wish me luck!!!

Scraping by, lol

So today is hubby's birthday and it's been very low key. We did presents, minimal, but thoughtful and hubby's kind of been jerky lately, so I really shouldn't feel bad, although I still do. No matter what, I like to make things great for people. I really love giving, but right now, times are scary and I really need to remember that and keep my spending in check. Next year, he will be 40 so I guess a big party is in order next year. I guess I should start planning now, lol.

Tomorrow I have work and lunch with a friend, that is always nice, the lunch part, not the work. But hey, it's good to have a job in these times. I hope I can get some good work done tomorrow while the kids are in school. I also need to try to get the remote I bought for John for the car, reprogrammed tomorrow.

I about killed myself yesterday. Hubby had set up some pavers that we are doing for the patio project we have this year, and he had them stacked up and I didn't see them while I was carrying a bunch of stuff in from the car and I tripped on it, and fell. Scraped my knee up pretty good, got a bunch of bruises, it was nice I tell you. Geez. Then poor little Elena somehow had one of the pavers fall on her leg today. She fared better than me, just a teeny little bruise. She's a tough girl. Oh and I accidentally shut her in the door of the car today. Poor girl is just as accident prone as I am.

Things just always seem to go by in such a blur. Right now I am loving my new schedule of working part time and staying home part time, but that will change when things get busier and I have to work more. The kids are doing well. Jackson got his crowns and he is doing much better now. Boy that night that we couldn't get the bleeding stopped was awful!! I was so scared for him. Not sure if I posted that he got a bunch of crowns, I guess I should read my blog before I post. Oh well. He got a bunch, poor kid apparently inherited his Dad's bad teeth, and while it was rough with LOTS of bleeding, he's now fine.

Elena's doing great! She's so freaking adorable, but man the girl is a handful. She's got so much of my personality traits, it's scary. She's fiercely independent, very moody, but she's my little comedian, and she really knows how to turn on the charm, I guess she got that from somebody else. lol

Hubby's doing good, he's on a medication for his migraines. They think all the BC's he was taking was what was causing the high blood pressure, so I hope this new medicine will help.

How am I? Well, as neurotic as ever, still need to go to the dr and dentist, but good I suppose. I had a massive fight with my Mom the other day, but now things are good I guess. Things will always be the same so I don't know why I try to fight it or change it.

I am proud of myself for actually changing my background myself, usually hubby does it, as I am completely computer illiterate. Yes, I realize it's not hard to do, but seriously if you know me, you know how incompetent I am about computers.

I think I am going to start trying to get better about updating more often. Yes, my mindless meanderings can be boring, but it's nice to let out my thoughts so there.

This week will be busy as usual, work, John's birthday, hanging out with friends, etc. Oh we did get Elena's new dresser set up. That thing is massive, but I love it and we got such a good deal. I also ordered her bedding today and am looking forward to getting started on re-doing her room. Yay!!!

Update

Okay, so far not really achieving my goals for the year, but hey, it's only the beginning, so maybe there's still hope. This week I didn't get much accomplished at work, nor really at home either. I swear, my children are so needy, I can never get much done. Of course I guess it would help if I could stay off the computer. It seems like every time I turn around Jackson, Elena, hubby, or kitties need something. I never seem to get anything actually finished.

Jackson went to the dentist last week, and it was awful! Granted I know we could do better on brushing, taking him to the dentist more often, etc, but he's been to the dentist a few times, but wow, the dentist made me feel like an awful mom. Apparently we don't know how to brush properly, he should be flossing, and he's got the worst decay in his mouth for a kid his age that she's ever seen. Thanks for holding back lady. grrr. Also Elena was a bit of a handful running through the place. Jackson goes to a new dentist Tuesday, and I am hoping to not take Elena, and that he will be okay. They are going to sedate him, and hopefully he won't really have as many cavities as that mean wicked dentist we went to last week said.

Hubby has a dr appt Wednesday . His blood pressure is very high ( gee I wonder how that happened??? duh) and I hope that he will be fine. He doesn't want medication, but I'm thinking they will have to put him on something.

I went to Bunco last night, didn't win. Bummer. I had fun, but really missed hubby and the kids. How on Earth can I be around them so much, and yet still miss them?? I'm crazy I suppose. We all went to a birthday party today, with a magician who did the most amazing balloon animals. Jackson absolutely loved it!!

I still need to find time to go to my dr, I had to cancel my appt last month, and am way overdue. I also still need to get a cavity filled. I tell you it's impossible to get these sort of things done for myself. The two days ( 5 hours a day) that the kids are at MDO, I am supposed to be catching up on work, and the rest of the time the kids are with me. I hate taking them to stuff like appointments as Elena likes to disobey me and run. Love running errands with kids, but eh, what else can I do?? lol I just keep telling myself it will get better when they get a little older.

Nothing much else going on lately, I don't think my meds are working too well, that's one reason I desperately need to go to my dr, but as this week is already booked with Jackson's dentist appointment and hubby's dr appointment, I guess it will just have to wait another week or two.

I've been missing my sister lately, well, the relationship we used to have. I just can't bring myself to call her, as I know that nothing's changed, it's not going to be the way it used to be ( when things were good between us), but I miss her. We used to be so close, like best friends, I always kind of thought of her like a mother to me, since my Mom was gone much of my childhood. I hope she misses me too, but I'm not thinking so. sigh....

Welcome 2009

2008 is now gone and it's a brand new year. Yay!! I'm hoping this will be a better year for everyone. We ended 2008 at a friend's house, kids included, and my little ones stayed up until 1 AM. Yep, you read that right, they even outlasted their grandparents. hahaha. I was hopeful for a late sleep in, but oh no, Jackson was up at 6, Elena at 7:30, these kids really dont' require much sleep, oh the joy! not.

I didn't necessarily make resolutions, those only seem to be broken in days, but I am going to try my best to better myself in so many ways. I want to be happier, it upsets me to hear people that truly know me, to talk about how sad I always look, I honestly don't feel that sad, but I guess the stress gets to me. I want to make more time for my hubby, I make lots of time for the kiddos already, but I do need to make more time for my man. He's a good guy, who tries very hard to take care of so much that he gets burdened. I would like to try to keep the house more organized and cleaner, that will be an act of God, but a girl can always dream.

Speaking of God, I am going to try to explore my religious options, hubby's not too excited about this one, but the kids seem interested and I should look into it, I have oh so many questions. I want to spend more time being thankful, I get so caught up in what I don't have and what I want, that I forget how blessed I am. I want to spend less and save more, this one will be truly difficult, as I have a slight shopping addiction. Not even necessarily on good stuff like clothes, shoes and purses, it's usually stuff for the kids or house, it's still a compulsion though. I want to eat better, and exercise more, but this is a standard wish for me. I would like to get back more to my roots, my core being, I think I've strayed more and more through the years and need to get back to myself. I would like to look into doing more things that I want to do, just never got around to. My own sort of bucket list I suppose. Time creeps up so quickly and I don't want to have regrets. Most of all, I want to work on my confidence and love. I have a hard time with myself, and I need to learn to accept myself , faults and all and love myself. I don't know why I am so hard on myself, I'm a fun person, with lots of caring and compassion to give, and have lots to offer, I just forget this sometimes. Go me!!!!
