The kids are finally back home after being with my Mom for 4 days, I forgot how much I enjoy having Elena to keep me company at work. Jackson couldn't wait to go back to school to see his friends. I'm going to look at some schools for Elena next week, I'm thinking 2-3 days a week, which hopefully will be perfect for everyone.
My foot actually hurts more now than it did when I first broke it. I've gotten it caught on several things at work, which made it hurt worse, it's not easy getting around these days, but at least my boot looks pretty, I went to Michael's and added lots of color. No reason in being plain. I think I might be going through a little bit of a mid-life crisis. Wee!!! I don't know I just think I should start doing the things I want to do and not worry so much about what others think. I posted a new blinky that I like.... Don't act, be. Yep, good life lesson I think. I'm ready to just be me. Now I've always been me, for the most part, but I still have more to go I think.
I'm weening off my meds, and I think it suits me a little better. Other than that, not much going on. Life is fairly boring right now. sigh

A humbling experience
Lately I've had to learn to let go of my pride and learn to ask for help. It's not easy for me to do that, but I guess sometimes you just have to do it. My neighbor, friends and family ( My Mom in particular) have just been awesome with their offers of help. I'm starting to feel better, although I think lately I've definitely been on my feet too much. Mom's coming to help me today, she's going to the store ( we're in dire need of the basics) and to help me do some laundry and pick things up around here. I'm lucky enough that my former cleaning lady is available to help me clean the house, which is great seeing as how my FIL will be here Wednesday. Work has been majorly kicking our butts, we've been working everyday until at least 9, sometimes midnight. I feel so badly for the kids, they're having a tough time of it. You do what you've got to do though.
Today, the kids have a birthday party, thanks again Christy for picking up that darling gift, I know it will be a huge hit! I'm staying home with Mom to get the house straightened, the cable guy is coming to re-hook up a home phone line, and John's got to work most of the weekend.
On a positive note, a friend that is like family to me, found out his wife is pregnant, I am thrilled!!! He'll make a wonderful daddy. I had something funny happen when I took Jackson to school the other day, I walked him in, which is the first time I've gone since I'm hobbled right now, anyway, there were two little girls and the one girl looked at me and asked if Jackson was my brother. HAHAHAHA, I thought that was hysterical!!! The other little girl looked at her like she was mental and told her I was Jackson's mommy. Kids, too cute.

Counting my blessings
Okay, yes, I am in a rotten mood lately, my hormones are raging, everything just seems to be spinning out of control, my meds are totally affecting me and not in a good way, so before I totally lose it, I just want to remind myself of what's good in this world and to count my blessings. So, here goes:
Each and every day I am given to remain on this Earth and spend with my children. Yes, they can be rotten, but they can also be a total Godsend. I adore them and I truly couldn't live without them.
My Mother, I'm shocked by this, but you know, she is a wonderful person. Yes, she has her shortcomings and maybe she wasn't the best Mom in the world growing up, but she shows me qualities that I could really learn from and she's one of the only people in this world I can truly count on. She has helped me so much lately, and I don't think even she really realizes how much I appreciate what she's done. I've lived my life so independently, not by choice but by necessity, that to have to rely on someone else is so hard for me, but she's been there when I needed her and for this I am eternally grateful.
My new Mommy tattoos, they are healing nicely, and they are at a good time to remind me, that I have everything to live for. Might not make sense to some, but for those that know me, you know what I mean.
My health, while this one seems absurd since I am immobilized, you know, it could be worse. I could be missing some limbs, have cancer, etc, so for this I am grateful.
A roof over my head. In this day and age, you should never take this one for granted. Yes, I don't have the kind of money I would like, and I still have lots to worry about, and it might not be house I want, but for now, I do have a roof and home, and that makes me happy.
All I can do is try to remember to be thankful for what I have, try to stop thinking about what I don't have, and pray for God's guidance to help me through this difficult time.

When you hurt yourself, you find out who truly cares about you. This whole accident of mine has me more emotional than usual, I'm wondering if the new meds are helping or hurting, anyway, it's just a little saddening, but I guess it's a blessing to see people's true colors. Doesn't make it easier, but I'm going to look for the silver lining.
