A better day

So today I am in a much better mood. We went on a playdate last night at the park w/ some friends and it was just what I needed. It was so nice to just go, let the kids have a good time, and I had a great time as well. John even joined us later. There was no drama and it was just good to be able to relax a bit.

This week should be plenty busy. I have to work most of the week, we had the playdate last night, a playdate Wednesday, another possible one Thursday, and a game night w/ friends Friday night. I'm really looking forward to game night. I don't get to play games often, so I think this should be really fun, gonna play Catch Phrase, never played that one, but I'm sure they'll teach me how.

I'm gonna see if Mom can take the kids this weekend as John and I need to work most of the weekend. blech. Wish we didn't, Saturday there were so many fun things to do w/ the kids, but oh well, I'm sure they'll be more later.

On the edge

We went to Memphis this weekend to visit the inlaws and the kids had a great time! Elena got a new princess dress and Jackson got a leopard gecko, that happened to escape in Grandpa's car, and then a second to replace the one we never could find. yippee. It was not the nice relaxing weekend I had in mind. Right now, I just need a break, hubby as well. Things have been so super stressful, things in general really suck and I just need to stop, shake it off and readjust my way of thinking. Right now I am just irked at everyone and everything and I'm just not able to cope. I pray for some relief. Not sure why I'm typing this, I'm not sure anyone even checks this blog. I guess it just feels good to get it off my chest.

Hello

Gosh how time flies! Jackson's getting used to going to school, although we're still not used to waking up that early. lol Work is , blah, hope it picks up soon. Leny and I are a feeling a little icky right now, hope it clears up soon, we have a big plans for the rest of the week. Playdate tomorrow, Grandma's for the weekend. Keeping my fingers crossed, she seems much better today than yesterday.

I realize I let too much time go by, so I'm going to try to update more frequently.

Jackson was in an automobile accident last week, he was riding with my neighbor and her grandson and they were going to Patterson Park, when she ran a red light and crashed. Aaarrgh!! She called me to tell me he was okay, but I could hear him crying in the background. It was such a horrible feeling and I couldn't get to my baby fast enough. Drove me nuts. He ended up being okay, just a little burn from the seatbelt and his tongue was a little bloody from biting it during impact. He's more scared than anything about wrecks now, and poor kid, now his friend thinks it's my son's fault for talking and doesn't want to be friends anymore. My poor kid.

Good times

Jackson had his first full day of school Friday. He said he liked it and he's looking forward to going back this week. It's hard to get him to say much of what he does, you just have to ask him a million questions to get any sort of answer, but I'm glad he's having a good time and I know his teacher will take good care of him. The carpool line is a nightmare, gosh, no wonder so many parents send their kids on the bus, it's very time consuming, but I'm not ready to let my little one on the bus yet, maybe a couple years down the road.

Elena's as precious as ever, she and I are really bonding and I love having all these special times with just she and I. This morning we did manis and pedis. It was so cute, and she totally loved it!

The weekend was over much too quickly, and now that Jackson is in school I will be working more, although Elena will still be with me some. Still not sure what kind of program we're going to enroll her in, but right now, I'm just enjoying my time with her.

I had a good time at my party Saturday, didn't win, but oh well, got to spend some time with some friends and had some yummy food and lots of laughs. I'm back on the diet wagon now though, and am determined to lose some of this flab in time for my birthday, Christmas and Disney. Wish me luck!!!

Today I hardly did anything, I was so freaking drained from the past week that we all just kind of hung out in our jammies, of course I was wishing I had gotten dressed when I heard the doorbell ring and saw a friend had stopped by. lol Oh well, I'm not sweating the small stuff as much as I used to.
