Hello

I guess it's time to update. After two visits to the dr, and $60, apparently there wasn't anything wrong with my daughter other than some sort of skin irritation that we now have medicine for. I hate that she had to go through the catheter and all of that nonsense, it was so painful for her and me. I need to work more on the potty training. She's doing great, but darn, she has the bladder the size of a pea, pardon the pun, so how on Earth do you potty train a child who goes to the bathroom that often???

Mom kept the kids last week for a couple of nights, which I thought I would have a really hard time with, but man it was really nice!! DH and I had a couple of dates, and it's amazing how we always seem to revert back to our carefree in love selves when no kids are involved. We saw the movie Knowing, which was pretty good, but the ending was a little less than desired. Oh and while Elena was at my sister's house, who no we are STILL not talking, she fell down concrete steps while she wasn't looking, and landed on her face. Ouch!! Poor little girl is just like Mommy in the clumsy department. Her nose is all scraped up and apparently is traumatized her pretty well, and she's still in pain over it.

Speaking of falling, I fell again as well. I was just healing up from my last tumble, which left a nice scar on my knee, and while at the shop, I fell while carrying a box of trophies. Yep, I broke some of the trophies, and bruised up both arms, my chest, my big toe, and my same knee that was inured last time. I guess it's a good thing that I'm not really old, or I would have broken a hip.

The kids are on spring break, and while it's been nice, they definitely have their moments that they drive me nuts. We went to a playdate on Tuesday, which they had a great time and sweet little Jackson found a new object of affection who he already wants to invite for a playdate. Tomorrow we have another playdate that should be fun, and next week I'm gonna take the kids to see Monsters vs. Aliens ( the new animated movie) with a friend which should be pretty fun. As for the weekend, we have a Preds game, and I might even try a new church with a friend. Yay!!

blah

This weekend has kind of sucked. It hasn't all been bad, I did have a fun night out, way too late, got home at 4, of course I was woken up by the kids at 7, and had to take Elena to the dr. Poor baby might have a UTI, and during the course of the day, got a horrible diaper rash all over her privates. She cries every time she goes to the bathroom, which is often, breaks my heart!!!! Still waiting to hear what's going on with her, two of the tests they ran were negative, but she had a moderate amount of leucines in her urine, so I won't know what that means until tomorrow. My poor sweet little girl!!! I hope it's nothing serious and she will be back to normal in no time.

Had to take the kids to work this weekend, and then some errands. I'm just a little frustrated and have lots on my mind right now, and still battling the blues . I'm feeling fairly lost, and I guess I just have some soul searching to do. ugh.....

This week has been crazy, the weather, business, kids, etc. We had a GREAT playdate Tuesday, went to the park, stayed way too long, and even got a sunburn. The next day was cold again. Darn this unpredictable TN weather. Wednesday was okay, lunch date got cancelled and the evening playdate was okay. Thursday and Friday I stayed home with the kids. They've been driving me bonkers the past couple of days, and while most of the week, I felt happy, blessed, etc, now I feel gloomy. What a difference a day makes I suppose. I really hate that I get like this, hopefully it will be over soon. I just feel so weird, like I've completely lost myself. I focus pretty much all of my time and attention on my kids, that I feel like all I am is a Mother. I need to re-focus and find myself, and hopefully also learn to work more on my confidence.

Tomorrow I have errands to run, and just found out I have to work this weekend, ugh!!! I hope I don't have to work too much this weekend. Tomorow night is Bunco, hoping for good luck on that one. I desperately need to color and cut my hair, hopefully maybe I can get that done soon. On a positive note, I bought Lisa Lampinelli tickets Thursday. They're pretty good seats, although I wish I could have gotten better, she is freaking HYSTERICAL!!! If you haven't checked her out, I highly recommend that you do. She's not for the faint of heart, but I love her. One of my absolute fave comedians!!

This week's plans include, work, more work, and hopefully my Mom taking the kids for a couple of days so I can, guess what? WORK!! Yippee. I also have a lunch date Wednesday with a great friend, and hopefully DH and I can work in a date this week as well.

Springtime!!!

Wow I am tired!!! Between the time change ( hate losing an hour!!!) and the whirlwind weekend, I'm beat! Saturday we had playdate plans with a friend to go to DC, not knowing it was a free day w/ a Dr. Seus celebration. blah!! WAY too busy, so we went to Kids Castle. It was a gorgeous day, spring is definitely in the air. We played, looked for bugs, and then went to Petsmart to look at critters. Afterwards we went to Ihop where I have NEVER seen Jackson eat so fast. He ate 5 silver dollar pancakes, most of them in just two bites each. Crazy for him. We then went to the grocery store and actually had a good time. It's so much easier to do things with just one child. Poor little Elena was home, since she had had a fever the day before. We bought some beautiful flowers, can't believe how cheap flowers are right now at Kroger. Yippee!! The bad part of the evening was it took us so long that I missed going to a fabulous " adult" party. Boo!!! Bummed about that, but my guy and I had a nice time together.

Today we went to DC with friends, and it was a ton of fun. I can't believe we stayed so long. Elena got to come too since she had been fever free for 24 hours. Afterwards, we grabbed some food, went to work ( boo once again) and then had to hit up Kmart for some supplies. Didn't even get home until 8. Now I've got some friendship bread baking that I plan on giving to a very good friend.

Tomorrow I have a full day at work, kids have school until 2, then they'll come back to work with me, then it's off to Nashville. Tuesday we have a playdate, Wednedsay we have work and school, then an evening playdate. It's going to be a busy week!

Another week

I can't believe it's been a week since I last blogged, where does the time go??? I'm glad it's the weekend as it's been a tough week. I managed to fall and bang myself up pretty good, I also stabbed myself in the forehead ( yep the forehead) while I was doing laundry. LOL It was a Halloween stake for outside in the laundry room on one of the shelves and as I was leaning in to throw some clothes in -whammo. Yes, only I can stab myself in the head with one while doing laundry. My keyring broke tonight in the Target parking lot and I couldn't find the car key, last time I went to Target I lost my keys in the shopping cart. Yep, Target and my keys apparently don't get along.

The kids have been absolutely bonkers the past few days and I guess it's a good thing our playdate got cancelled today since poor little Elena now has a slight fever, poor girl didn't feel good tonight and she was acting so sad. I hope she wakes up feeling better tomorrow. Not quite sure what the weekend holds, we'll have to see how Princess E feels. It would be nice to not have much to do though, as we usually have way too much going on.

I have a proud mama moment, Jackson has told me that his favorite presidents are Barack Obama and Abe Lincoln. Granted he doesn't know much, but his school taught him a little for President's Day, and I've tried to teach him some of my own biased opinions. I think it's awesome though that he picked these two guys. I was reading about how Lincoln is one of the Presidents that both Democrats and Republicans can actually agree that he was one of the best we've ever had and of course you know I supported Obama. Lincoln's one of my fave as you don't get much better than a self made, intelligent, HONEST man who truly made a wonderful difference. It definitely makes for a valuable lesson to an impressionable mind that regardless of color on the outside, it's the inside that really matters.
